Progress is the new word in Waterloo these days!

This northeastern Iowa city, located on the banks of the picturesque Cedar River, is in the process of finishing up a complete face lift, transforming downtown into a brand new family adventure. Already famous for being one of the State&;s foremost historic towns, Waterloo is introducing a number of redevelopment projects.

In recent years we have the multiple additions to our downtown Cultural District including the Dan Gable International Wrestling Museum, the Phelps Youth Pavilion and the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum. Each feature state of the art exhibits, interactive activities and a wealth of knowledge and creativity.

As part of the Riverfront Renaissance Project, new public areas have also been added with the new Riverloop Expo Plaza, adjoining Public Market, additional riverfront trails and the upcoming riverfront amphitheater. New restaurants, housing and shopping are opening monthly throughout the Main Street District.

Near Highway 20 and Crossroads Center, we have seen additional development including many new hotels, the Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo and constant expansion of the Lost Island Water Park, Iowa's largest outdoor water park. New retailers, restaurants and service providers are always being added to the already impressive variety of businesses here.
